Australia
Adelaide II
26 April, 2007
Adelaide, South Australia
Rained out! Ugh! We arrived in Adelaide yesterday and set up camp in a very luxurious caravan park — complete with two swimming pools, a beach, sand dunes, a great kitchen, games room, nice laundry facilities, etc. Then, last night the rain moved in. A slow, constant, soaking rain. Actually, rain is just what the drought-scorched Australian countryside needs, but it certainly puts a damper on the camping experience. We packed up in the rain, and now we have to find a backpackers hostel. We can only hope there are no bedbugs! A couple of nights ago, we were ravaged by some sort of mutant bedbug that must have bit Andy at least 30 times, and Liza had it even worse! Awful. At least when we camp, we can maintain a clean environment and keep the really nasty pests out. In a hostel, you don't have this advantage.
It seems that the rain is here to stay, at least for today, so we'll take care of city business. It's time to go back to civilization. We probably need at least a haircut!
